Mastectomy Reconstruction

Flap Reconstruction

This approach uses tissue — skin, fat, and sometimes muscle — from another place on your body to create a reconstructed breast. The skin usually comes from the belly, the back, buttocks, or inner thighs to shape the new breast.

There are many reasons why using your own tissue might be the best option for you.

DIEP Flap Breast Reconstruction

DIEP flap reconstruction is one of Dr. Chin’s specialties. In a DIEP flap, fat, skin, and blood vessels are cut from the wall of the lower belly and moved up to your chest to rebuild your breast while preserving the muscle of your abdominal wall.

Latissimus Flap Reconstruction

In a latissimus dorsi flap reconstruction procedure, an area of skin, fat, muscle, and blood vessels from your upper back is used to reconstruct the breast.

Breast Implant Reconstruction

After a mastectomy, one of the ways that a breast can be reconstructed is with an implant, which restores the shape and volume of the breast lost during mastectomy. We specialize in pre-pectoral direct implant breast reconstruction.
